How to Install Golf Cart Seat Covers

Posted by admin | How to Remove Your Seats |

One of the hard parts when you need to replace your golf cart seat cover is knowing how to do it and what tools you will need.  While each golf cart is unique, most of the time you can remove and reinstall your own seats from your golf cart.

If your seats are worn out and need recovering, once you have removed them you can either take the seats to an automotive upholstery shop or install a custom seat cover that you have ordered.  While these steps take a little time, you can save a lot of money by doing the removal and reinstall of the actual seats yourself.

Several of the cart companies and aftermarket shops will also sell you modified seat covers that can be better than the original materials as well.  Often these seat covers will either slide over the existing material and foam of the seat or require a little work to install them.  There are numerous shops online and in catalogs that will let you buy replacement seat covers for just about any style seat.

One of the problems that you can encounter as many people have is what do you do if the foam padding or internals of the seat cushion itself is bad?  With golf carts exposed to all sorts of weather and usually sitting around in storage quite a lot also, this can be a common problem.  One of the best ways is to either remove the material you have from the seat and take it to a furniture or fabric or sewing store.  Often times they might have the replacement foams that you can use in your seat at a much cheaper price than what you would pay it you take it to a dealer or auto upholstery place for replacement.

Here is a good video that will show you an example of how to replace your golf cart seat cover. While this video is for one particular brand of replacement seat covers and the cart might not be the same brand and model as yours, it should give you an idea of how the process works.
